These items are all gone, now:
Well, friends, the craft sale was a success! My crocheted items and earrings went over wonderfully with the local community! For some reason, my cards went over really well last year, but not this year. Not sure why that is, but I can bring them again next year (maybe some Christmas ones, though, next time around). These items are all gone, now: I really wasn't sure how my crocheted items would go over, as I'd never tried to sell them before, really. Apparently, I should do another craft show next year! (Also, a large number of earrings are now unavailable. I'll have to get new fabrics and make more for next time.)

Hey, Friends! Tomorrow's the big day. Come on out to the craft show and get some early holiday shopping out of the way.
That way, you can put your feet up and sip some hot apple cider in your cozy living room while everyone else is scrambling last-minute to find gifts for their loved ones. Below is a photo gallery that shows the majority of what I'll be bringing out tomorrow. I've pre-washed my items so that they're clean and ready for you to wear home from the sale! (And here's a link to my friend's items that she's bringing. Seriously, who doesn't want a sock monkey hat or a cute little monster hat for his/her kid?!) I've sent out an email with the sale's details. If you'd like the info, go to the "Contact" tab above and let me know. See you tomorrow! *Note: there are a few items not pictured below:
This is the second little baby sweater I've made this week (and ever). It was made with a 5.00mm hook. The fabric buttons are homemade.
Find how to make the fabric buttons here. Find the cardigan pattern here. Find the scallop pattern (for the edging) here. I was only off by one stitch by the time I switched colours. I figured out that the arm holes are to be stitched in the 20th stitch, not the 19th. But, at the end of the first jade row, I was down two stitches (after compensating for the original "missing" stitch). Note that for the scalloped edge on the bottom of the cardigan I made sure the first scallop was started after I had made the front edging (for the buttons and button-holes). The scallops were made in the "spaces" between the puffy-looking rows. (For the green cardigan, I made the scallops before the front edging, and scalloped into the ends of the puffy rows.) I recommend doing the scallops as your last row so that the front edging is tied in a little nicer. I also only double crocheted 5 (instead of 7) stitches for each scallop. The buttons really hurt the ball of my thumb to make. I think this package had smaller buttons than my previous batches. They're labeled as the same size on the packaging, but I am keeping them separate from my other ones, just in case the pieces don't match up size-wise. Neckline: on row of single crochet, I decreased (front loops only) after every 4 stitches. I added another single crochet row with the jade to add some trim, also decreasing after every 4 stitches. Sleeves: I added a row of single crochets for a teal trim. These 3 headbands will be available at the craft show, of course (everything I make lately seems to be for the craft show - only 12 more days!).
Pattern: here. I had wanted to make some cute knotted headbands lately for the craft show, but hadn't bothered to set aside any time to write a pattern and/or try making any. I made the thyme green one first. I made a few adjustments when I made the dark grey one, and then a final adjustment before making the salmon one to match. I wrote the pattern out as I made the salmon headband. I saw this a while back and immediately fell in love with it. Isn't it pretty?
What you see in the photos is my on-the-fly creation after seeing the photo of the one in that ad. It involved a little mathematical skill to make sure the initial chain would leave the right multiple of stitches for an even pattern all of the way around. I think it turned out pretty well. This item will (most likely) be available at the craft show (if I don't fall in love with it too much between now and then). I may have to make an identical one for myself after the craft show... I don't think this yarn is available anymore, so I think I'll keep the rest to make one of these cowls just for me. You know, if I can part with this one at the craft show. Note to self: for mine, make 1-2 sections taller and 1 section narrower - for my giraffe-like neck. (Or just use a 1-size smaller hook, which I apparently used for the dark grey cowl.) This item will very likely be available at the craft show. I followed the pattern without adjusting any sizing. After it stretched out (like all crocheted things do after a week's wear or going through a washer/dryer), it was too big for my small head. The mannequin's head is even smaller than mine. If this was on a bigger head, it would look perfect. It doesn't lay flat after being washed, but it would lay flat on a bigger head.
I'll have to make another one for myself (I love owls!) at some point, and remember to take it down a size. You need to know how to do post stitches to make this. Pattern: here. These two hats were made last winter. The green one I made during last year's craft show to keep myself busy, and the red one I made after getting home from it. They are both spoken for by two friends of mine who happen to be twins. These hats will be at the craft show, on hold for them until noon. After that, they will be put on the table and up for grabs for the rest of you.
Um, I didn't use a pattern. I just...made them. *shrug* This item will be available at the craft show, however I may be putting it on hold for the first part of the day if my friend would still like me to *coughcheckyouremailcough.*
I made up the pattern (and didn't write it down, unfortunately), and used the exact same pattern for my own olive green infinity scarf last year. I just love mine. A lot. Partly because it's olive, and partly because that yarn is so soft (which I can no longer buy locally, thanks to Zellers shutting down and disappearing). Note: it looks like there's a big bulge in the scarf on one edge. There isn't. I was just arranging it quickly so that I could get all 7 of today's posts done in a short amount of time. This item will be available at the craft show. It's pretty soft and cozy.
