I made a brown version of this toque several months ago for one of my nephews. This one is toddler-sized. The one I made my nephew was child-sized, I think. His child-sized hat fit my own head, so it was pretty stretchy (it wasn't long enough for me or comfy being stretched that much, but I was just testing it out, anyway). This one took maybe 5 hours between yesterday and today. The cable looks fancy. I've been learning to make cables this past year, and this one's pretty easy. You could easily make the hat without the cable (which I considered doing but decided against, in the end). The pattern is well-written with accompanying photos. I think it went faster for me this time because it was the second time using the same pattern.
