About a year ago, I bought a Kobo Aura e-reader. I love reading on it, and it I may even prefer it now to actual paper books. *gasp*
Eventually, I finally bought a sleep cover for it, thinking the scratches would stop. Due to the magnet in the case, bobby pins were sticking to it. Additionally, gift cards and grocery lists were slipping inside the case and wiggling around between the Kobo's face and the inside of the sleep cover. The plastic edges on the gift cards were scratching the Kobo.
So. It was time to make something functional, cute, and protective to put the Kobo (while in its sleep cover) into so that I could leave the house with it and not worry about it getting scratched.
This case was made, after some trial and error regarding sizing, in 1 day. I sewed the bottom shut, added the buttons, and tied off all the ends this afternoon before photographing it. It fits a little snugly, but I imagine it will stretch out a teensy bit with wear and tear. The pattern I wrote accounts for the stretching, so after a month or two, it should be perfect!
Oh, I found the buttons for $0.10 each at a local thrift store. Wish there had been more. They're beautiful buttons. I have a wooden button addiction, so it wouldn't take all that much to please me. But still. These 2 buttons are pretty nice. :)
I'll probably crochet some sort of decal to put on the back to hide the seam a bit. Will post updated photos if/when that happens.
