Loom-knitting looked easy enough, so I got some supplies and tried it out. Ond of my very first projects on a loom turned into my best-selling pattern, to date. It was so worth it. However, loom-knitting was not as versatile as I'd needed, and I couldn't as easily create the unique items that I was already dreaming up.
Enter real knitting (you know what I mean). Now I can't stop. I've designed 4 hats already (patterns are in the works - hopefully available soon!).
Knitting cables? Easy-peasy. You have no idea! I LOVE how beautiful knitting cables look, especially the braided ones. They're so pretty, and not nearly as complicated or difficult as they look (can't say the same for crocheted cables - I'm still not overly interested in those!).
My current knitting project is the one in the photos for this post. It's something I had wanted to make for myself to use right away when we moved into our house. Over 4 months later, I've finally got the time and inspiration to start it!
Second of all, I finally figured out how to list my patterns on Ravelry (in addition to already having them on Etsy). I was about to delete my Ravelry account and start from scratch when the tab I was trying to find all of a sudden showed up. Seriously, I was looking for the "delete account" option when I found the needed "Pro" instead. *phew*
Thirdly, I was able to offer my very first pattern giveaway. It's something I've always wanted to try. I wanted to see if people would like my patterns, or if they'd just sit there, all lonely and abandoned. Turns out, all of the free copies I offered were gobbled up in 9 minutes! That's crazy! It was super fun for me, too, to see them fly off the shelf (so to speak).
I'd reeeeally like to get this current piece written up and listed before going back to work a week from now. We have other "work" that needs to get done this week, too, but, come on, knitting is pretty important, too.
Stay tuned to find out what this piece will turn into when it's finished...
